Andrea Aguilera’s proposal consists of a meticulously composed installation that responds directly to the circular plinth provided as its support, extending its dialogue into the meadow and the surrounding natural landscape. Formally, the work is structured through the repetition and arrangement of glass tumblers of varying diameters but similar heights, an object and a geometry – the circle – that recur throughout the artist’s practice.
Through this arrangement across the surface, Aguilera proposes a series of subtle, repetitive gestures that echo the circular form of the invitation’s framework. The tumblers are grouped in varying densities and volumes, as though awaiting an event: to be filled, collected, or to overflow. Within this configuration, the filling, evaporation, and spilling of the water are understood not as accidents but as part of a choreography open to the forces of nature.
The core of the installation lies in its interaction with the meteorological conditions and changing light of the Arrieta landscape. The glass vessels act as receptive elements that create a magnifying effect, capturing shifts in light and activating the water they contain. In this way, the work becomes a living, ever-changing piece that invites the surrounding environment to play an active role in its composition.
Andrea Aguilera (Bilbo, 1997) irudi fotografikotik abiatuta egiten du lan bulkada gisa, eta eskulturatik desirari jarraituz. Bere praktika bi arlo horien artean sortzen diren espazioen ikerketan eta esplorazioan oinarritzen da. Topaketa horien bidez, zaurgarria den horren indarra azpimarratzen du, ikusezina eta hautemanezina dena berriz esanahiz kargatuz.
Artean graduatua da Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatean, eta fluent-en PRAXIS hezkuntza-egituran zein formatuan eta JAI programan trebatu da. Bere lana Matadero (Madril) eta Tabakalera (Donostia) bezalako egoitza-programetan garatu du.
Banakako erakusketak Parmi-n, La Papelería gunean (Madril) ikusi ahal izan da, Andrea Fontanak eta Maureen Musek komisariatuta. Taldekako erakusketetan ere parte hartu du, hala nola Estéfana Román Matesanzek Les Pralinesen (Basilea) komisariatutako Listening through the wall with a soft plastic cup egitasmoan, edota Beatriz Alonsok CArteC zentroan (Madril) komisariatutako Un Tiempo Elástico erakusketan
