Jone Erzilla's proposal is entitled berriro daramadana (What I Carry with Me Again). In this intervention, the artist uses the circular platform as a framework for revisiting her own artistic trajectory, bringing together materials, texts and images drawn from her personal archive and produced between 2022 and 2026. This act of reordering and revisiting earlier work becomes the organising principle of the installation within its new context, transporting memories and experiences from the past into the meadow at Arrieta in search of new ways of inhabiting them and placing them in relation to the viewer.
Erzilla's methodological approach draws upon a passage from Annie Ernaux's Writing as a Knife. For this occasion, the artist has adapted the original text by replacing the literary terms "writing" and "words" with concepts associated with visual practice: "making" and "images":
And in order truly to live things, I need to relive them. … I cannot make without "seeing" or "hearing", but for me it is always "seeing again", "hearing again". … I need the sensation (or the memory of the sensation), I need that moment when the sensation arrives, stripped of everything, bare. Only afterwards can I find the images.
Through this adapted quotation, the work reveals itself as an exercise in memory and material reactivation.
Jone Erzilla (Durango, 1999) holds a degree in Art and a Master’s in Research and Creativity in Art from the University of the Basque Country. Her practice is based on contemporary creative methodologies and includes ongoing activity in exhibitions, publications, and collaborative formats. She has held solo exhibitions at Xerra Espazioa (Zaldibar, 2026), Can Felipa (Barcelona, 2024), and the Museum of Art and History of Durango (2022); and group exhibitions at Sophie Tappeiner Gallery (Vienna, 2025, Curated By festival, curated by Cory John Scozzari), Artium Museum (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2024), Las Cigarreras (Alicante, 2024), Oxford Aretoa (Zumaia, 2024), and Galería Aire (Bilbao, 2023), among others. She has taken part in various artistic residencies, including the Ondoko project (2022), the workshop led by Roni Horn together with Isabel de Naverán at Centro Botín (2023), and the 10th edition of the Ezprogui project (2025).
Since 2024, she has been creating, editing, and directing the magazine Isla Rebista together with Elena Olave and María Cascón.
